This trip begins in the early evening. We will depart from the local hotel Auberge Le Petit Prince, which is situated at the food of the sand dunes. The trek takes us for an approximately 1.2 hour trip through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, reaching the desert camp. The nomad tents have beds and are well equipped to handle the desert weather.  Here we can explore and climb the dunes, try sandboarding, and take pictures and see sunset over the massive dunes. At night, there will be a wonderful traditional dinner around possible campfire, or in the tents, depending on weather. We will be treated to a drumming performance from the Berber guides and have the opportunity to hear traditional music. We will spend the night our tents, and in the morning, after waking up early to see the sunrise, we will ride the camels back to Merzouga. The hotel will provide breakfast and showers, and you can relax before continuing on your journey.

How to Get to Merzouga:

There are several easy ways to get to Merzouga via public transport, it just depends from where you are coming. There is a daily Supratours bus from Marrakech that passes through Ourzazate and Errachidia that arrives in Merzouga in the evening, and from Fez there is a Supratours bus every night, via Meknes, to Merzouga, arriving at 6 am in the morning. We can pick you up from the bus and bring you to our hotel. If you are coming to Merzouga by a rental car, I’ll meet you at the hotel called “AUBERGE LE PETIT PRINCE.” This hotel is located about 600 meters near the centre of Merzouga, and there are signs directing you to the hotel. Otherwise, depending on your budget and travel needs, we can arrange private transport by car or arrange a transport in a taxi.
